Mara Maeglin (She/Her)
Hi, I’m Mara Maeglin. I specialize in anxiety, life transitions, communication in relationships, depression, self-esteem, and body image as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I am passionate about growth and healing and enjoy helping others find peace and balance in life. I recognize how challenging it can be to step into the process of healing and change and I work to meet you wherever you may be emotionally, mentally, and physically. I strive to make the therapy process feel approachable and safe. In sessions I use compassion, humor, empowerment, and curiosity to create a supportive environment and to work collaboratively with you. We will work together in navigating barriers and challenges and mapping out the next steps that are best for you in your journey. I have a calm and relatable style and prioritize developing an authentic and trusting therapeutic relationship with you as I believe this is the foundation for growth and change in therapy. I see therapy as a designated opportunity for you to receive support and invest in yourself. I work to provide a safe space for you to share your story and help you cultivate your strengths, achieve your goals, and promote your overall well-being to live a full, balanced life. I love helping clients understand and find positive ways to manage emotions, change negative and self-defeating thoughts, develop new perspectives, and nourish healthy relationships with themselves, others, and life. Common therapy topics include boundaries, self-care, mindfulness, shame and guilt, motivation, perfectionism, self-doubt and self-criticism, relationship conflict, effective coping skills, life stressors, and acceptance. I understand that therapy is different for every individual based on unique goals, needs, and circumstances. I use an integrated and collaborative approach to treatment that combines techniques and interventions that are best suited for you. Treatment modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I received my Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Colorado Boulder and my Master’s of Social Work from Loyola University Chicago. With a specialization in clinical forensic social work, I have diverse and valuable experiences in working at the intersection of mental health and law. I have specialized training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and have worked with adolescents and adults experiencing a wide range of mental health and substance use issues and disorders. I also focus on health and wellness as a Registered Yoga Teacher and Reiki Master Practitioner.
