Nicole Schoch (She/Her)
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) with over 12 years of experience working with individuals and families plagued by addiction. My practice, Whole-Hearted Counseling, provides a safe and empowering environment for individuals struggling with addiction and compulsive eating (Binge Eating Disorder) to navigate challenges, identify solutions, and create lasting change. Whether you’re curious about sobriety, questioning if you have an addiction, looking to moderate your alcohol use, seeking recovery, or struggling with over-eating or sugar addiction, I aim to collaborate with you to meet your goals and facilitate an environment where growth and change are possible! My personal and professional experience with addiction and recovery allows me to offer a unique perspective and inspires trust and connection for clients navigating the recovery process. I approach addiction and recovery counseling with the belief that “addiction” and “recovery” are client-defined, therefore, I don't push an absence agenda on someone who is looking to reduce their harm or moderate their use. Instead, I work with you to explore and create the recovery path that best suits, and empowers, you to lasting and healthy lifestyle change. Some of the frameworks that will inform our sessions include Attachment-Focused-, Humanistic-, and Behavioral Theories with use of various techniques such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness Based Relapse Prevention, Acceptance and Commitment -Dialectical Behavioral-, and Cognitive Behavioral- Therapies. The first step to recovery is acknowledging the problem, the next is seeking help. I look forward to taking this journey with you and believe our work together will be a beneficial source of building tools to help you navigate your path with your whole heart!
